Gary is a direct marketing professional with over 40 years of experience and has a strong track record of growing revenues and improving profitability. As President and CEO of several of the leading catalog companies in the Chicago area, Successories, Inc .,
J C Whitney & Co., Inc. and Reliable Corporation , he was instrumental in developing and implementing successful strategic, marketing and operating plans. He received a BA in Economics from St Joseph College.
At Successories, Inc., a publicly traded multi-channel designer and manufacturer of motivational and recognition products, Gary guided the development of the direct marketing channel
which resulted in a 45% growth in revenues and he restructured the company's operations and capital structure. During his tenure at J C Whitney, a $135 million direct marketing company specializing in the automotive aftermarket, he initiated and implemented a multi-faceted marketing plan that targeted niche markets and internet development and oversaw the relocation of the contact and distribution center to a new 350,000 square foot fully-automated facility. At Reliable Corporation , a direct marketing/retail company specializing in marketing a full-range of office products, he guided revenue growth from $55 million to $150 million and launched the Reliable Home Office Catalog, which was named The Best New Consumer Catalog of the Year in 1986 by Catalog Age Magazine.
Gary, also served as Vice-President of Marketing at Hammacher Schlemmer and Company , a direct marketing/retail company marketing unusual gadgets and household devices. Prior to that, he was Director of New Customer Acquisition at the Bradford Exchange , an international direct marketer of limited edition collector's plates and sister company to Hammacher Schlemmer . Gary also held various marketing and advertising positions at Aldens, Inc. , one of the "Big Five" general merchandise catalog companies in the 1970s.
Away from work, Gary enjoys spending time with family, traveling and playing golf with friends.
